The Vuelta 2021 starts on August 14th in Burgos - with a time trial over eight flat kilometers. But the first climbing does not have a long time waiting, already on the 3rd stage it goes up to 1500 meters on the Picon Blanco.

After the third stage, the Peloton turns direction Mediterranean coast, where it goes south to Rincon de la Victoria. Then again north, before the decisive third week starts at the Atlantic coast in Cantabria. Already three mountain arrests are waiting for the drivers. And on the last day the 33.7 kilometer-long second single-time trial in the famous pilgrim city of Santiago de Compostela, which probably should bring the final decision on the Vuelta winner 2021 on 5 September.

Overall, the 76th edition of Spain tours are 3336,1 kilometers on the program. Just eight times it goes right into the mountains, four hilly daily sections with wavy terrain are added. In addition to the two time trials this year but also seven flat stages for the sprinters on the program.
