XQC is banned by Twitch because he shows Olympic games
The Twitch Streamer Félix "XQC" Lengyel has on Wednesday, 28.7. 2021, once again a twitch spell checked. The time out of Twitch took only 5 hours: XQC had illegally transferred the Olympic Games on his Twitch channel. But the clips for spell are on his channel.
Who is the streamer?
- XQC is a former Oververtch professional who had to end his career in the shooter early because of a lack of impulse control. After several suspensions of the Overwatch League because of tantrums and insults, his team donated him in March 2018. After that, the Canadian became full-time streamer.
- The lack of impulse control does not seem to disturb his twitch viewers, they like it more if their streamer really upset. XQC has developed in recent years to the most watched streamer on Twitch. This is also because he is scary a lot of streams. His streams often take up to 16 hours. In addition, XQC is a gifted entertainer that is well and authentic in young spectators.
- XQC acts regularly turned up and driving. Again and again he acts uncertain and captures temporary locks on Twitch. So he has once defeated a virtual schoolgirl in "3 wins" and accepted their offer to take off naked. Another time he was banned because he showed mating monkeys in a clip.
XQC comments on the Olympics
What was he banned this time? XQC has looked at several clips of the Olympic Games on Wednesday on Wednesday. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is known that they do not appreciate something like that. You are using copyright complaints (DMCA CLAIMs) to Twitch and force the streaming platform to act.

Twitch has lately some problems with copyright law and therefore reacts sensitively to such complaints.
XQC does not seem to be the only twitch streamer who got trouble because of Olympia: reports an English side, some Streamer had received DMCA locks. They even threw the IOC to abuse copyright rules on twtich (via Twitter).
Twitch Streamer promises to be "better and smarter"
That says XQC: tweeting as usual completely relaxed in "All-Caps": XQC believes he has a "live copyright lock" collected. He thought he had taken the "necessary steps" and is on the safe side. He did not expect the spell, but could have escaped it.
He apologizes to his spectators and promises to be "better / smarter" and next time to follow the rules narrower.
What makes the spell so strange? There are two things strange:
- The lock took only 4 hours and 55 minutes - that's an unusual length, even the shortest banns last at least 24 hours
- The video clips in which XQC shows the Olympic Games, continue to see on his channel - actually that would have to be removed
Because Twitch never expresses banns, is puzzling what happened there. Maybe Twitch has lifted the spell, maybe the IOC withdrawn the complaint. You do not know - even XQC itself, that does not seem to know.
On reddit one discusses the possibility that XQC as the largest streamer of the world would have any special treatment. In general, one believes that it is clear that one could not simply transfer the Olympic Games to Twitch. The legality of the ban will not doubt.
This is behind: The copyright rights for such streaming events sometimes seem to be as complex that no one looks out, neither Twitch, nor XQC nor the IOK.
XQC seems to be aware of the risk of transferring the Olympic Games worldwide and collecting a barrier. He probably thought it is rich to delete the recording of the stream later to collect strike.
